Pour célébrer son 75e anniversaire, le Festival d’Aix a édité en 2023 un numéro spécial de la revue L’Avant-Scène Opéra.
Il y retrace son histoire et fait découvrir à un large public les dessous de cette manifestation lyrique incontournable depuis sa création en 1948.Avec de nombreux focus de spécialistes, le numéro retrace la diversité du répertoire du Festival : Mozart, les œuvres du répertoire baroque, mais aussi la création lyrique et la musique contemporaine, sans oublier la place faite aux œuvres les plus rares du bel canto. L’ouvrage revient aussi sur les carrières de tous les artistes, orchestres et personnalités qui ont façonné l’institution. Enfin, il explore les spécificités du Festival, raconte le fonctionnement des équipes toute l’année à Aix-en-Provence, et retrace ainsi une partie de l’histoire de la musique des XXe et XXIe siècles.
